A little backstory on the Zambia Farm

In July 2023 I had the opportunity to go to Lusaka, Zambia on a missions trip with my church, Revolution Church. I had never been on a trip like this before but as everyone told me, Africa would change me. Embed itself in me. Beckon me back. All of those things happened and are happening still.

The purpose of the trip was multifaceted. Revolution had sent a team in 2019 to  meet the lead couple of a relating church in Lusaka, Bernard and Alice Sakala. During that first visit, funds had been raised to drill some boreholes for wells. Water is abundant in Zambia, just not above the Earths surface. There were 4 boreholes dug and suddenly thousands of people now had easier access to drinking water. Incredible.

Fast forward to my trip in 2023. We wanted to go and see the Sakalas again and build on that relationship. I was fortunate enough to stay with them.

Bernard and Alice not only lead Life Assemblies of God Church, but in 1999 they founded Flying Angels School out of necessity for their own children. Today the school has grown to 3 campuses and about 550 students including a number of children without families. There is a lot going on for this family!

But that's not all...8 years ago, Bernard was able to secure some land just of town, a plot just shy of 13 acres, Fly Angels Farm. The farm was one of the recipient locations of a well during the first visit.

The purpose of the farm is to provide food to feed all the children at the school plus have excess to sell to the community.
